Business Register
The Business Register (in Italian: Registro Imprese) is the Italian public register where all kinds of companies and sole proprietorships must be recorded. In Italy, each Chamber of Commerce keeps the Business Register that is related to its territorial competence.
All kinds of businesses must submit to the Business Register a wide range of deeds and formal communications regarding their activity.
On the website platform SARI you can check which kinds of deeds/communications must be submitted to the Business Register, and how to do it properly.
The registration of a business in the Business Register requires the payment of an annual fee (diritto annuale).
In the Business Register you can find:
- Information on the establishment, modification, and cancellation of any business, with a registered office or branch within the Italian territory, of any legal form and in any economic sector;
- The main business data of registered companies/sole proprietorships (business name, statute, administrative board members, registered office, etc.);
- All the modifications occurred after the registration (transfers, liquidations, business activities carried out, etc.).
The Chamber of Commerce Council appoints a Registrar as responsible for the Business Register. He is controlled by a Register Judge appointed, in turn, by the competent local court.
