How to use

In order to digitally sign a document you have to use the proper software:

  • Which is already uploaded on your USB token;
  • Which can be downloaded on a smart card for free. It is also downloadable from InfoCamere.

As for remote digital signatures, they have to be configured through a smart card or token and can be used via the free app DikeIC Mobile (available for iOS and Android devices), or via the DikeIC software, downloadable for free.
The digital signature can be affixed on various file formats, but we suggest using PDF.

In order to digitally sign electronic documents you need to:

  • Insert the signature device into an appropriate reader (smart card) or into a USB port on your computer (token);
  • Start the signature software, enter your PIN when prompted and follow the instructions.

Once digitally signed, the document takes the p7m file extension, in addition to the original one.

A special signature software tool serves to affix a digital time stamp on the document, ascertaining the date, minute and second of the signature. In this case the file takes the m7m extension.

In case you need to send a digitally signed document, we suggest doing it via certified email.
