EEPLIANT3 Concerted Action
EEPLIANT3 (Energy Efficiency Compliant Products 2018) is a pan-EU Concerted Action on market surveillance that aims to implement actions in line with the objectives of the Horizon 2020 Work Programme (Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy). The key objective of EEPLIANT3 is to help spread the intended economic and environmental benefits of Energy Labelling and Ecodesign Directives, by increasing the rates of compliance. This will be achieved through the coordination of monitoring, verification and enforcement activities of 24 Market Surveillance Authorities and 5 different organizations across the EU Single Market. This project will be implemented from June 2019 to May 2023 with the involvement of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan Monza Brianza Lodi and Enea as representatives for Italy.
EEPLIANT3’s expected results are:
- adoption of best practices for carrying out market surveillance in the most effective way;
- improved compliance with the Energy Labeling and Ecodesign Directives, as a consequence of improved market surveillance in the EEA (European Economic Area);
- increased awareness of (and regard for) market surveillance by both the industrial sector and consumers;
- more cost-effective and consistent market surveillance throughout the EEA, producing a greater overall impact on the relevant sectors.
