Remote Digital Signature
Definition
The remote digital signature is a digital device that differs from the “traditional” ones; in fact, it does not need to be connected to a physical tool. Thanks to RDS, it is not necessary to:
- bring a dedicated physical device with you;
- Insert a smart card into a card reader;
- insert a token into a USB port.
The remote digital signature makes it possible to digitally sign a document via:
- Digital DNA IC, a free app (available for both iOS and Android) for smartphones or tablets;
- Firma4NG, a free software for personal computers.
How to request a Remote Digital Signature
The Remote Digital Signature can be requested by anyone who already has a smart card or token, issued by this Chamber of Commerce.
It is possible to request your RDS:
- In person at the one-stop desk of any branch of the Chamber of Commerce;
- Online through the EasyFirma service.
You need to have:
- A device for digital signature, issued exclusively by the Chamber of Commerce of Milan Monza Brianza Lodi;
- A valid identity document;
- An Italian tax code;
- An email address;
- A smartphone.
How to activate an RDS
Within 30 days from the issue, the RDS has to be activated as follows:
- In person at the one-stop desk of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, via Meravigli 11/a, through a dedicated digital device service, Monday to Friday, 9:30 to 12:30. The desk offers free advice on how to activate and/or use any type of digital signature device.
- Autonomously, with the help of the Digital Device Activation Guide.
