Consumer credit promotes the purchase of goods and services as part of a commercial and advertising strategy that is carried out by suppliers of goods and services.

Consumer credit is subject to specific information obligations towards consumers, who must be enabled to assess and compare the affordability of the offer by having a clear understanding of the cost of financing.

Insufficient, incorrect or inaccurate information can cause consumers to improperly have access to credit and become over-indebted.
