GUIDED TOURS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
From April 15, 2024, until further notice, visits to the Teatro Romano are suspended
due to construction work at Palazzo Emilio Turati, the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce where the Roman remains are kept. We will inform you, also through a notice on this page, of the date of reopening to visits, which will remain guided and free of charge.
For any information, you can still write to teatroromano@mi.camcom.it or contact the visit coordinator at 02 85154378 during the following hours: Monday to Thursday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm - Friday: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Tours of the “Teatro Romano” are always guided and free of charge, but reservation is mandatory. To book your appointment, write to teatroromano@mi.camcom.it or call 02 8515 4593 - 4378.

Visiting hours are Tuesday to Thursday, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. In special cases, tours can be organized on other days and times during the working week. The tours are led by officials of the Chamber of Commerce and are offered in Italian, English, French, and Spanish.

In the days immediately preceding the visit, the name and mobile phone number of the designated Chamber official will be communicated. In any case, tours are organized in compliance with the anti-Covid protocols defined by the Chamber. Therefore, the following rules will apply:

  1. Meeting point for visitors:  via San Vittore al Teatro 14, five minutes before the scheduled time of the tour;
  2. Body temperatures will be measured via an automatic thermoscanner. If their temperatures are higher than 37.5°C, visitors will not be allowed to take part in the tour (data are instantly measured and not registered);
  3. Hand sanitizing products are available to visitors at the entrance;
  4. Starting from January 2023, and unless otherwise advised, wearing  FFP2 masks is no longer necessary for visitors, accompanying people, tour guides, or Chamber officials.

Groups will consist of a maximum of 15 adults, including tour guides and those Chamber personnel who check compliance with the anti-Covid rules and the conservation of the site and the museum set-up. At the end of the tour, information material on the Theater can be provided in Italian and English. School groups will consist of a maximum of 25 students, teachers, and one Chamber/private guide. The “Teatro Romano” is easily accessible to people with motor disabilities. Their participation should be indicated when booking the tour. Within three days prior to the tour date, student/adult group organizers must provide the names of group leaders, together with their mobile phone numbers, for any urgent communications.

At the end of the tour, the Chamber of Commerce will provide bilingual information material on the Theater and a biography of the Jewish archaeologist Alda Levi, who was the first to understand, during the fascist era,  that the ancient remains beneath the Chamber of Commerce dated back to the time of the ancient Mediolanum.
