Project JAHARP2020

The Chamber of Commerce of Milano Monza Brianza Lodi, together with 28 Market Surveillance Authorities from 22 Member States, joins the European Project JAHARP2020 (Joint Market Surveillance Actions on Harmonised Products 2020), with the aim of boosting market surveillance activities and ensuring the effective safety and compliance monitoring of products circulating in the EU market.
The Project, coordinated by PROSAFE and co-financed by the European Commission, was developed across three areas of intervention (named JAHARP2020-1, JAHARP2020-2, and JAHARP2020-3 respectively) for an overall duration of 24 months (from May 2021 to May 2023).
Objectives
-
To identify, through coordinated surveillance activities, non-compliant products for which appropriate corrective actions should be applied.
-
To contribute to the full and correct implementation of the new EU Regulation 2019/1020 on market surveillance through the development of new common procedures and direct collaboration among the entities taking part in the Project.
- To improve the skills and increase the knowledge of the supervisory Authorities through the exchange of information, the development of common working tools, and the promotion of uniform codes for the identified product categories.
Framework
The products at the core of the Project were selected based on a "priority order" established according to the specific needs and requirements of the Authorities involved.
Notably, the Chamber of Commerce participated in:
-
the work of the group dedicated to the harmonized approach of the Authorities to the verification of the administrative requirements of products placed on the market, with the aim of building an integrated market surveillance network based on the exchange of effective practices;
-
the monitoring activities on:
